5.0 out of 5 stars Lowfinger rule!, 15 Dec 2000
Lowfinger are something of a rarity in today's UK music scene, with a quality that is lacking in practically all the stuff in the pop charts - ORIGINALITY. It is alomst impossible to say who they sound like, but they sound like the best bits of so many great bands. You can hear elements of Black Grape, the Stone Roses, Dee-light, B-52s, and some old crazy 70s rock anthems, all being driven from the back by a dirty fat groovin' bassline from a man who clearly has funk coming out of the tips of his hair. Every tune is different and has a unique flavour. The common theme? - It's music that makes you feel GREAT!!! A purely extraordinary spectacle when playing live, Lowfinger have done well to capture that crazy spirit on disc. For anyone who appreciates good, original sounds, this CD is a must. Lowfinger have other stuff out on 12", notably the excellent Couch Nation remix of 'Idiot Radar', with the superbly funky 'Mexico' on the flip. Go buy it; Lowfinger: coming to a town near you soon.
