Product Description
The first official expansion pack for Quake 3: Team Arena adds not only firepower but gameplay as well. Harvester, one of the expansion's new play modes, has players venturing into the centre of the arena for objects that they must then bring to the opposing team's base (think football with guns). Another new play mode is Obelisk, where players try to destroy the enemy's obelisk. The mission isn't as easy as it sounds; obelisks slowly regenerate when not being attacked.

There is also the kind of stuff you would expect from an expansion pack. The chain gun and nail gun are both back (you gotta love the classics), as well as a proximity grenade launcher. There are several new capture-the-flag and deathmatch maps, and now teams can design their own skins and logos as well as choose from different character heads.

You entered the Arena alone. Now it's time to share the glory. You're running with a brutal team who are taking your lead and watching your back as you battle inhuman warriors who want to send you and your next of kin to the butcher's bin. The fragfest gets even more frantic with faster, deadlier gameplay in new gut-wrenching game types, plus Tournament mode and Capture the Flag. Blow enemies to bits with five different teams, utilizing a state-of-the-art interface, focused maps, redesigned HUD and AI geared for team melee maximization. Team coordination and communication is more important than ever in the relentless battle for supremacy. Pump up the action with power-ups that last as long as you do and unthinkably heinous weapons, including chain guns, proximity mines and a last-ditch effort kamikaze device. Quake III Team Arena includes 12 New Massive maps, new weapons, and awesome new game types. This is the first Id developed Mission Pack since Doom, and you don't want to miss it!

This is the best mod of Quake III I've seen so far. At first I thought it was a money making excersize by ID... but when you get it and install it you see the VAST improvements made to the user interface.

Game play is the same, but with more weapons, powerups and types of game play... obviously it's more team orientated than before.

The user interface is so much easier to use now, that giving and receiving orders, voting etc, is a breeze and does not interrupt your game play.

Fantastic... RAR!!!

The official Quake iii Expansion,The Team Arena is worth all the money you pay for it.First of all,you get to join a clan:The Fallen,Pagans,Crusaders,Intruders or Stroggs.There you will battle in Capture the Flag type games and even new ones:Harvester(Kill and Score)and Overload(blow up the enemy base skull)the graphics are better and there are new guns namely,a nailgun,a mine thrower and(my favourite)a Chaingun.Also for those who want the characters from Arena to appear in Team Arena there is a special Tournament game where you can be someone from Arena.
I think this is a good game.

Another brillant add on to Quake 111 arena. Best played with the razor boomslang mouse.
