Product Description

The Asian Hawk (Jackie Chan) comes to Europe in search of the magical 'Armour of God' (relics of Crusaders' armour), hoping to use it as bait in order to rescue his girlfriend from a cult. His search takes him all over Europe with his sidekick (Alan Tam) and, inevitably, into various violent confrontations. Jackie Chan also directed the film and performed all his own stunts.

Without a shadow of a doubt, Armour of God is a superlative example of what Chan movies should be. Non-stop action followed by amazing stunts cap off this flick. You're not a Chan fan unless you watch this.Jackie sets out on this adventure with his two companions, hoping to save the life of his former girlfriend Laura. Battling evil monks, the elements and not to mention the amazon women, Jackie finally captures the mantle of being Asia's number 1 star. A must see movie if you are a fan of his!

This film is great, jackie chan is on top form with great fighting, amazing stunts and jackie chan's own brand of hilarious comedy. This is the film where jackie chan nearly died, and this is shown in the out takes at the end. If you have never seen a jackie chan film before this is an excellent place to start.

This DVD has very good picture quality and some nice bonus extras eg. an interview with Willie Chan, his manager who tells about the accident which almost killed Jackie in this film. I have seen this AOG both on video and VCD and am glad the whole film (with both Chinese and English audio options) is included. The video dubbed version I have seen deleted some of the scenes. This DVD film is classic Jackie Chan. Broad humour (nothing subtle about Chinese comedy!), average acting with a minimal plot but GREAT action. Jackie and Alan Tam make a great comedy duo and Alan Tam is surprisingly funny. He also has a great voice. The only disappointment in the film was that Jackie didn't sing. I was hoping he would sing "High Upon High" which was the closing song on the video dubbed version. Anyway, very enjoyable and well worth the buy. One to watch again!

One of the best Jackie Chan films. His stunts are just amazing, breathtaking physical moves he pulls off are great. This is the actual film where he fractured his skull in the making. Mad! Jackie is basically Asian Hawk, the asian version of indiana jones. But with his blend of fantastic humour and action, not to mention gadgets, this film is well worth watching.

Jackie, an ex~pop singer, turned treasure hunter ~ now called Asian Hawk, is forced into rescuing his ex~girlfriend Lorelei (who was a singer in the same group) after a monastery of mad monks abduct her, in the hope that Asian Hawk will deliver to them the much coveted antiquities known as the The Armour of God in exchange for the girl he loved.
At first reluctant, Jackie agrees to help, and along with his bumbling, one time best~friend Alan (who also sang in the same pop group but ran off with Lorelei, causing the split up of the group in the first place), and the daughter of a super wealthy antiques collector, they attempt to get inside the mountain side temple and save the day. But with old tensions between the two friends still evident, and a veritable army of drug dealing kung fu monks to contend with, their chance of this coup actually working, may not be as easy as first thought...

I think this is a great little stunt/action packed kung fu movie. Chan's brand of childish slapstick, which is at a reassuringly high level here, is as dumb as ever, but certainly no less entertaining for it. There's a ton of action and some fantastic stunt work, with all the main cast doing fine jobs. Including Tam as Jackie's manipulative friend and ladies man, who's about as much use in a scrap, as an erection is in a nunnery, providing the laughs; and (the lovely!) Lola Forner, giving us a game but goofier version of Lara Croft! Chan the cool treasure hunter dude, who has not only plenty of tricks up his sleeve, but who also owns a space~age Mitsubishi, who's outlandish technology would give even The League Of Gentleman's 'Maxi Power' a run for it's money!

the first time i watched this i wasn't very impressed but the second time i really enjoyed it all and i can see why people rave about this. Until i got city hunter this used to be my best presented DVD, hong kong legends are excellent producers of high quality menus and picture quality, the quality defys its age which is almost 20 years now! Featuring Jackies famous near death stunt and team members talking about his operarion and recovery you certainly get some intresting extras. The comedy is great, the story is good, and the fights are superb, get this now and live Jackie.YAHOOOO!!

To be fair I think I've been watching a different DVD to many of the other 'afficionadoes' who've rated Armour of God here. I thought it was incredible. Jackie is unreal and the stunts are nothing short of superb, but then that's always the way with Jackie. I loved this film and I can't recommend it highly enough especially if like me your a huge Chan-fan. Go get it now!
