Unlike other compilations released for the festive season, the tracks used on this CD were never released as singles. Most were either b-sides or album tracks, whereas some were specially recorded for this collection.

Sure, it's aimed at the teenage market. I mean, how many music-loving adults are interested in Britney, Christina, N-Sync and The Backstreet Boys et al? So is it any good? Well, it should be considering the calibre of the artists involved in this project, yet, you can't help but feel something is missing. The singing is faultless -- except for the awful Steps cover -- but there's no 'Christmas' feel to this CD, and that's a major let down.

It's not a bad album, and probably worth more than the three stars I gave it. Still, if you want to buy a good Christmas album, go check out some that has the original versions of the songs featured here. Otherwise, this is a CD for teens only.

This deffinitley should be on everyones christmas list and is a must have chrismtas album. The title 'Platinum Christmas' explains the whole cd itself with lots of artists and bands, With the likes of many teen sensations such as Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, N-Sync and with many mature artisits such as Toni Braxton and Whitney Houston. The album includes a few christmas favourites with many old songs that have been brought back to the present with each artists special touch. So if you want to hear christmas songs that have been brought up to the year 2000 get this album.

In a word dire. We are used to producers putting two good tracks on a CD and then filling it with the left overs. On this occasion, they left off the good tracks. Xmas music is supposed to be happy and uplifting. After this I needed counselling. I give it a single star for the price.
