2.0 out of 5 stars It's all about Loveeeeeeeeeeee, 26 Nov 2001
By A Customer
This film explodes at you, giving you a witty thriller and a chase that makes your heart beat. It's worth the watch if only for the steamy love connections.

5.0 out of 5 stars worth much more than a bit of steam, 6 Mar 2004
This film, while not quite as mind-spinning as Performance, represents pretty well the weird world view of Donald Cammell. True, there are some fairly cliched moments and Christopher Walken plays the wild gangster Bruno as if he's just stepped out of a comic, but Wild Side seems to be poking fun at the stereotype behind its characters. As Bruno becomes more and more paranoid and extreme, he eventually hits an inevitable peak and his sexual identity seems to go through some kind of warped breakdown. Christopher Walken plays this scene so well, it was the funniest I've seen in ages and it must have been a riot making this. Sometimes it's as if Walken genuinely doesn't know what role he's playing and has been allowed to get away with a bit of ad libbing here and there. Chaotic, silly, yes - a bit of sex that looks pretty good but has something to say and gets you thinking.
