The Logitech Soundman SR-30 are extremely competant speakers. When connected to my SB Live! 5.1 Player soundcard, produced extremely good MP3 audio with good bass. They also outputted the AC3 tracks on the SoundBlaster CD with conviction, utilising all 4 speakers. DVD Movies play very well as well. The wired remote control is a useful addition as well, with an easy way to plug in your headphones.

The only flaw I would say is the cables are very short, they don't stretch particuarly far. Also, the manual leaves a little to be desired. It is also not clear on the box (albeit mentioned in the manual) that you need a 4 channel sound card to take advantage of the hardware.

Well I ordered these for Christmas and as soon as I got them I tried them out, playing some metal tracks and I can say these speakers played them better than my other speakers (which are pretty good and more expensive), and I was only using two of the sattelite speakers! The punch from the sub is pretty amazing and it looks good too which cannot be said for a lot of other speakers. They don't take up a lot of my desk space and I can have the sub next to my monitor without any distortion or damage to the monitor. If you are looking for a great speaker system then these are for you, don't go spend money which could be used on a great sound card to harness the power of these speakers.

I'm happy with them but only one thing, you will need a sound card with two outputs, one for the front speakers and one for the rear speaker, and to be honest they don't cost that much! but like I said these are a great set of speakers.

My rating is based on the use of a GOOD soundcard (e.g SoundBlaster Live! or Audigy series)

To Summarise

POSITIVES

Great Sound Quality, with little distortion at max volume.

Very easy to set up with colour coded cables

Nice Clean Design

NEGATIVES

The cables for the rear speakers are dissapointingly short , if you want them further than 2 feet behind the bass unit, you will need to buy extensions

Secondly, you only get two wall brackets for the four speakers?

The negatives are only minor details, but they do make the difference to knock the rating to 4, instead of the 5 it deserves for the quality of sound and the price.
