Amazon.co.uk Review

Based on the direct-to-video release of Batman of the Future: Return of the Joker, this eponymous title is quite simply one of the worst superhero videogames ever made. (Which, considering how awful entries in this genre tend to be, means that it's pretty darn bad.)

Contrary to the futuristic theme of the Batman of the Future cartoon series, this pathetic effort is hopelessly dated in terms of gameplay--which is of the side-scrolling brawler variety--as well as graphics and sound, both of which would have been barely passable on the last generation of videogame systems. And given this relic's clumsy, unintuitive controls, even retro-videogame fans will have a hard time stomaching this one. --Joe Hon

Product Description

Based on the animated film Batman of the Future--Return of the Joker, you take the role of Dark Knight, Batman of the future, to save Gotham City from the Joker. This side-scrolling game features hand-to-hand combat, or you can explore the 16 levels in four gothic worlds to find ways to sneak up on your enemies. Use five different Batsuits, including attack, defence, and hi-jump, plus use 10 Batman Gadgets including Magnetic nunchaku, smoke bombs, Dark Knight shield, retractable wings and Dark Night discus. Take care of Joker's henchmen, and then do battle with the Clown Prince of Crime himself.

1.0 out of 5 stars the name is batman, so what do you expect?, 20 Feb 2004
O here it comes, batman. All the games so far have been terrible, this is no exception, in fact, its even worse. The graphics make you want to vomit, and enemies come out of nowhere as if magical doors appear like in a warner brothers cartoon. It is terrible it is as bad as Bender,s cooking(From Futurama) it is disrespectful to the bat, that is if you like it the only good point is that you could get it for 20p.This game should be smashed to pieces until no copy is left.

This game looks feels and plays like it should be on the nintendo nes rather than the 64. If it was on the nes other games would poo on it from a great height! If you like burning money or are sipmly insane then buy this game, if not avoid at all costs and buy something like perfect dark instead with your money!!!!

This game is simply terrible. The graphics are apphauling as is the gameplay. This a game from 10 years ago.Even with these faults the game could still be playable with the different types of suit but the fact that you can't save or even get a password makes this game the worst version of Batman EVER!
