Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

So you've sat avidly in front of the television screaming at the contestants of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Of course, with you sitting comfortable at home with your cup of tea in hand, the pressure isn't as great, and of course you've already proved to yourself that you could have won the million pounds months ago, well now is your chance, for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? has now come to that beige box in the corner of the room.

With all the fanfare, Chris Tarrant's voiceover and a plethora of questions to challenge you, it's the chance any avid quiz expert has been looking for to final put their critics to rest.

Dotting all the i's and crossing all the t's, the game is an exact replica of the television show. And yes before you ask, Chris Tarrant does make sure that "It is your final answer" and that you "are sure" you've made the right choice.

As in the TV game show you have the option to ask the audience, phone a friend and play the 50:50 cards, and just like the real McCoy, the audience do get it wrong and your friends don't have a clue.

With multiplayer options allowing you to practice the fastest finger, head to head competition and teamwork, this game will allow you to drag the whole family into the game.

Surprisingly challenging and pressure building--you can't skip the video sequences, nor Chris Tarrant's voiceovers--this game is great if you have any inclination towards the quiz genre. If you are a hardened fan of the television series then this however, will be more than your cup of tea, allowing you to finally take the seat and try and become a virtual millionaire.

Product description

TV's hit quiz show comes to the PC. Now you're really in the hot seat! The pressure is on. Can you keep cool? You're just 15 correct answers from being a millionaire. It's what you know--and how fast you know it. Fun for the family and appropriate for all ages! Do you play it safe or risk it all?

2.0 out of 5 stars Only Play Once, 6 Oct 2001
By A Customer
If you were thinking of buying this game, don't. It is disappointing. However, if one of your friends has this game then I suggest you ask if you can borrow it, that's the sort of game it is.

This is a good game, very realistic, especially Chris Tarrant's voice; but once you've played it a few times there is the tendency for the same questions to appear over and over again, which is very annoying and defeats the object of the game (unless you have a very bad memory). Once you have played it a few times and possibly made £32,000 then the enjoyment starts to fizzle out, so now is the time to give it back to your friend and think about buying something else (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? 2 maybe).

Good for a few hours, but in the long run, disappointing

2.0 out of 5 stars Its a real Shame!, 19 Mar 2001
By A Customer
The first Game on who wants to be a millionaire is fantastic, all the family crowding around the TV hoping to win a million. However, after that it falls flat on its face. Whilst the concept is great, it is extremely annoying when the same questions keep coming up (this can be 4 or fives questions on the trot), phone a friend is pointless, and more often that not give you the wrong answer.

In short, play it once superb. Then put away, as you will have seen it all before.

4.0 out of 5 stars This Is My Final Answer!, 6 Jan 2001
By A Customer
After my first review of this title, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" for the Sony Playstation is still going well, But there are some side effects to this game, When you Phone A Friend the number of times Chris Tarrant has said the WRONG amount of money to the caller is limitless! The number of times the game has crashed on £1,000, £4,000, & 32,000 I've lost track! But over all I think the game was very good in time for christmas, I also own the PC version of this game and I don't have any of these problems stated above, Whether the power of the 32-bit Playstation is now going out of class i'm not sure, But obviously the PC version is bound to be much better as I have found out for myself, But the only problem with this is that you can't really take it over to a mates house if they haven't got a PC but as for the Playstation Version is easily portable, But overall it is great fun with mates & family members - With it you actually can find out how little your friends know and then laugh when they get the £4,000 question wrong then cheer when you win a guarenteed £32,000! Absolutely Fabulous!
