While only serious film buffs are likely to recall Hugh Hudson's role as the director of the Oscar-winning CHARIOTS OF FIRE, the Greek composer Vangelis became, and remained, a household name with his soundtrack for the 1981 film. At the time, the theme song was parodied as being excessively saccharin.
Indeed, with titles such as "Five Rings" and "100 Metres", the album wears its Olympian heart on its sleeve. Nonetheless, CHARIOTS OF FIRE is often a brooding work, and if the prevailing memory of this album is one of slow-motion runners and heady triumph, Vangelis's synthesizer work often conveys a sense of isolation and lost glory.

As the Academy Award for best score 1981 show this sound track to the film is absolutely amazing. Each song is powerful and weel crafted with the kind of inspiring nature that makes you want to achieve anything. On eof my favourite cds ever.

After seeing this film i could not stop humming the extreamly catchy theme tune for days and when i finally did stop, i just wanted to hear it again. That is when i brough the soundtrack, and it was definately money well spent.

There are all the tracks on this CD that there was on the film including Five Circles, Abrahams theme, Eric's theme, 100 meters, and Jerusalem, to name but a few.

Once i had listened to these tracks, i felt like i could do anything, and that is the really great thing about them. They are so uplifting and motivational. This would be a good CD to put on if you train at a gym or somthing similar, or even if you just felt a little bit down in the dumps.

Overall this CD is a really great buy and is a must have for any fan of the 'Chariots Of Fire' film. However, don't be put off if you are not particularly a fan, you are still sure to love these tracks.

If you have a dream of any kind or particularly if you are a runner like me. This is guaranteed to get you working towards it of get you out training on those cold winter nights. Fantastic.
