Amazon.co.uk Review
WebCams are becoming increasingly popular additions to complete PC systems. While the cameras themselves are usually unremarkable, this one, the Intel Easy PC Camera, cuts a funky shape (looking rather like a bar of soap with a lens in it). Performance-wise, the camera captures images at 320 x 240 pixels and up to 30 frames per second, which, though standard for WebCams, isn't very impressive. If you're planning to use it as a tethered digital camera, you're likely to be disappointed with the results. For ordinary tasks, however, it's perfectly adequate: videophoning, e-mailing still images, creating quick Web broadcasts, etc.
All the necessary operations softare is included, and thankfully it's all fairly straightforward to use.
For many users, the most obvious and probably most genuinely practical function of a WebCam is its standing as a videophone, allowing people to actually see, as well as talk to, friends or relations they ordinarily wouldn't. And this camera will more than suffic for that. It may not be the most sophisticated piece of kit, but the Intel Easy PC Camera lives up to its name--simple to use and enormous fun. --Miles Berkeley
