James Spader, Marisa Tomei and Keanu Reeves star in director Joe Charbanic's crime thriller about a detective tracking down a serial killer. Charbanic got his start directing MTV music videos and has developed a knack for synching sounds and visions. The music, composed and conducted by Marco Beltrami, alternates between the tension-laden pieces that accelerate with the thrill of the chase (the old-fashioned orchestra of "Grif Gets a Girl" and the near techno "Tracking a Honda") and pastoral passages ("Turtle Luv" and "Face Down") that sweep with grand majesty, either hinting under the surface that all's not well in Wellsville, or abruptly exploding at an unexpected moment. These are short works ("Driven", the opener, racks up 3:26 as the longest selection here) that subtly pass as creepy orchestral miniatures, where it always feels as if someone is looking over your shoulder. I brought this album because I'd heard a song in the movie I wanted, not realising it was only the composed music. I wasn't disappointed. The music is both sad and intense. It really captures the atmosphere of the movie. Not for people who don't like music with no words, definatly for those who do.

This soundtrack should be in everyone's collection, even if you have not seen the film. The best track has to be the opening theme, 'Driven' which is a haunting female voice with some accoustic background. This was by far my favourite track, but there are plenty of others to be had. For the best effects, it is of course better to watch the movie as well, but it will bring enjoyment either way. Well worth the money.

the song appears in almost the beginning, and it seems chill-out or trip-hop; in the song sings a woman with very beautiful voice and the song appears when keanu follows james spader to the graveyard because james goes to visit the tomb.
