The Golden Ninja Warrior statuette has been stolen and hidden away. Three different ninja clans battle it out to try and find the statue before any one group can locate it and take advantage of its ability to provide its possessor with invincibility. After 90 minutes of kung fu madness, the 3 ninja leaders face each other in a battle for the statue that only one of them will walk away from. And that’s about it. Obviously, this isn’t a movie that’ll feed your brain!
Godfrey Ho, perpetrator of the exploitation cash-ins Man Behind The Sun 2 and 3, made a whole slew of ninja movies through the mid 80’s. Some were awesome, some were attrocious, and Ninja Terminator could fall into either camp depending on how you appreciate this kind of film. Me? I throw my lot in with the “awesome” crowd.
Set in modern day Hong Kong of nearly 20 years ago, the ninja madness is relentless and non stop in this video store classic. All the staples of the ninja genre are there – the vast array of weapons, walking up vertical walls, the magic, the eyeliner-wearing Western ninja masters…only this time we get ninja car chases that resemble something out of The Sweeney, death threats delivered by toy robots, gum chewing super cool plain clothes (ie sports jackets and flares) ninja masters, thrown into the bargain in this near peerless flick.
The dubbing is horrendous, the soundtrack is entirely ripped off disco-funk and prog rock from the likes of Pink Floyd, Steve Hillage, and Gong, there’s even a smattering of John Williams’s Star Wars theme; all of which seems to keep an inane grin firmly anchored on your face from beginning to end.Read more ›

Ninja Terminator is quite simply the most amazing film I have ever seen, the mind truly boggles at it's unsurpassed magnificence.

If you are expecting big budget production qualities or remotely recognisable actors then think again because this film has nothing of the sort. Essentially this movie is pure rubbish, but that is its charm. The total lack of cohesion between the plots of the two films that have been obviously hashed together will provide the viewer with undoubtedly the most hilarious experience of their lives. Fundamentally it's two movies for the price of one, the tale of Jaguar Wong, who has to defeat some evil syndicate boss who for some totally baffling reason sports a terrible joke shop wig, and "Harry the Ninga"[sic] who must defeat "Darren the Ninja" and some other guy to get hold of some miscellaneous golden object, which according to the misspelt blurb on the box will gain him "the super strength of the ninja sorcery". It must be seen to be believed, total lack of budget, total lack of talent, atrocious dubbing and editing and the most hilarious script you'll have ever heard.

Once I finished watching this film I literally ached all over from laughing so hard, I nearly gave myself a hernia, there is no way that any movie could possibly even come to close being as side splitting hilarious as this epic catastrophe in cinematography.

After watching Ninja Terminator you and those who have the pleasure of watching it with you will be united through the pure, unintentional comic genius of this film. Buy Ninja Terminator, it will change your life.

This film is so bad, so very very bad, that its great. I was laughing my head off all the way through it, its funnier than the opening sequence of `Black Belt Jones' and thats pretty hard to beat.

It must have been made on a budget of roughly 25p, they couldnt even afford to hire asian actors for two of the ninja leaders! Some of the long shots of `Hong Kong' are actually of a MODEL, yes they couldnt be bothered to get real footage, they built a rubbish model. I think most of the budget went on watermelons, which get chopped up a lot with swords.

However the best bits are the ridiculous props, my favorite has to be the Garfield phone used by one of the Caucasian "ninjas" its eyes open when he answers it. I mean wtf?! What kind of ninja has a Garfield phone?! And then you have the wind up toy robot (about 3 inches high) that delivers warnings in a booming voice, but cant walk more than about 2 foot before it gets stuck on the carpet or something.

The actual fight scenes are mildly amusing, I've seen worse ones, but for the sheer comedy value of this film you cant beat it.

Ok, everyone knows the premise already: this is a Godfrey Ho "Ninja Movie". Don't expect anything but the most incoherent story and outrageous dialogue on the market, if you're a novice to the genre. This one in particular has some of the most hilarious moments put on celluloid, like the Garfield phone conversation, the Messenger Robot and the constant (no seriously, constant) mentioning of "The Golden Ninjar Warria!!" If you make a drinking game out of Ninja Terminator and take a tiny sip of beer every time someone mentions "The Golden Ninjar Warria!!" you'd be wasted before the one-hour-mark. As usual this is actually two movies dubbed over and marketed as one, the original being what I assume is a Korean (definitely Korean actors) martial arts/kidnapping drama. How did they connect this movie to the ninja-footage you might ask? Well, they didn't. It's a laughable attempt to hide that it's not the same movie and the constant use of phone conversations between people from the different movies makes that painfully obvious. The main problem here is that it actually feels like we're watching the entire Korean movie since the things it's supposed to be about here (except for "The Golden Ninjar Warria!!" part) could actually be what that movie is actually about. This is a minor "flaw" though, but the film would definitely have benefited from more Ninja fight scenes and less of the original action. The Korean action is well above average though, which could have made it an OK movie in it's own right. The Ninja fights are cheesy, sped-up and insanely edited, but still a guilty pleasure, as is the entire movie. Enjoy with friends and a pack of beer.
