Oasis are renound for the quality of their B-sides, and this single really is the pinnacle of Noel's song-writing achievements. For your money you get what could quite easily have been released as an EP in its own right. The title track, 'Some Might Say', didn't give the band their first number one record for nothing, and is arguably the stand-out track of the (What's the Story?) Morning Glory album. What follows are the majestic Noel-sung ballad 'Talk Tonight', the wonderful 'Aquiesce', a top-five all-time Oasis moment which typifies all that is so good about the band, and finally the punky 'Headshrinker', the perfect showcase for Liam's unique vocals. Although 'Live Forever' was a better A-side, and 'Wonderwall' can boast the best Oasis B-side in 'The Masterplan', this is the most complete and consistently superb single out of the fifteen available, and one of the best of the decade.

This is the best single ever released. Not only does it have some might say, which is an excellent A side, its has Oasis' 3 best b sides: Talk tonight which is a relaxing, lazy song. It also has Acquiesce, a true rock n roll track with a prime example of Liams snarl. And lastly it has headshrinker, quite a punky track, with an deafening solo. This has to be the best single I have ever brought.

The early Oasis singles were as essential, if not more, than the albums themselves.
Initially one is attracted by the cover artwork on those all important first 12 singles. Only Pink Floyd albums seem to have such consistently enticing covers!
Each single features four tracks and is usually long enough to fill one side of an album. What's more the tracks are often more varied than what you get on the albums.
Some might say is no different. It kicks off with the song that contains my favourite Oasis line of all time "Some might say they don't believe in heaven, go and tell it to the man who lives in hell!"
After this rocking start, we have 'Talk tonight', where Noel plaintively sings a ballad with alternating minor/major verse/chorus.
Then comes 'Aquiesce'. I didn't know what it means at the time of release and neither did Oasis! Who cares? After Liam's snarling verse, you get Noel's power chorus, then Liam dives straight back in for another great vocal. This is the Gallagher boys duelling vocally and in terms of tension and release it is a piece not too disimilar to Dylan's 'Like a rolling stone'.
Then we finish with Oasis in punk mode with Liam tackling the high-speed lyrical deluge of 'Headshrinker'.
