5.0 out of 5 stars More atmospheric SP, 5 Mar 2001
By A Customer
"1979" is one of the most successful SP songs: driven by its bass line and by Corgan's delicate and sighing voice, it's a wonderful commentary on young generations. Never preachy, always compassionate, a touching song both lyrically and musically. The B-sides are first rate, too: they show the same taste for atmosphere, leaving out for once SP's trademark hard guitars in favour of a subtler approach. "Cherry" is especially good, and "Ugly" stands out as one of the most sincere self-deprecating songs written by Corgan.
