5.0 out of 5 stars Original artists: 100% original hits !!, 23 April 2002
By A Customer
If like me you get frustrated and angry when, having bought or ordered a cd, you find on opening it the dreaded words "Some re-recorded tracks" etc., then take a sigh of relief and relax because this collection is all 100% original tracks.

Those of you with better eyesight than me probably worked this out on your own but, squinting at the screen as hard as I dare, I still couldn't read all the writing on the picture of the cover. So I took a gamble and this time it paid off!!

Apart from a few obscure tracks on CD1 this collection has an excellent playlist with a variety of all types of seventies music. The cd's themselves are individually sleeved and contained in a smart silver presentation box - okay it's only cardboard but it looks good!

All in all this collection is superb value for money! Buy it - I don't think you'll be disappointed !

5.0 out of 5 stars Seventies heaven!!, 12 Jun 2004
By A Customer
All too often these seventies compilations promise much but deliver nothing save for woeful cover versions featuring "as many of the original artistes as possible" (i.e. none). Not this one! Here we have a collection of six individual 18 track CDs featuring original recordings of long forgotten glitzorama and tack. There is hardly a weak track on it. The whole decade is here from the early plod-rock of Mungo Jerry and the Hollies through the platform soled glitter of Wizard, Mud and TRex, the classic punk of the Stranglers and Damned right through to the two-tone ska beats of the Specials and Madness. Best of all for me though is the assortment of odds and ends, one-hit wonders and the plain bizarre all of which went to make the seventies the best musical decade of all time and most of which appear to be included on this compilation. Clout, Mr Big and the Wurzels are to be found sitting side by side with Glen Campbell, David Essex Showaddywaddy and Pilot. Everything under the sun is here - there simply is no discernible logic or pattern to describe or catalogue this eclectic mix of nostalgia. Buy it or miss out!

3.0 out of 5 stars A must have for all fans of 70s music, 30 Nov 2000
By pickering99@talk21.com (Bedford,England) - See all my reviews
What a superb collection of 70s music. All of the songs on this 6 cd box set are classics which still sound good to this day. You are getting all genres of music from the likes of punk from the sex pistols and the buzzcocks through to disco from blondie and kc and the sunshine band. If you buy this box set and look at the track listing and think i dont know that song you soon will once you hear it.Since i purchased this cd collection i haven't stopped playing it.
