Amazon.co.uk Review
The summer months of the first year of the new millennium saw the ultimate in human guinea pig experiments. Ten people were placed in a house under 24-hour surveillance, and the public voted one of them out every week until there was one lucky winner with a fat cheque for £70,000 in their pocket. Quite what the antics of Nasty Nick, Naked Nichola, Moaning Mel et al has to do with this collection of tunes remains a mooted point--the only music in the series being the theme tune, Anna's guitar playing and the group's constant melodic mantra "It's only a gameshow, it's only a gameshow". Fortunately, this is a great dance music compilation, which further adds to the kudos factor that the show held with the great British public. From the drum & bass rumblings of Roni Size's "Brown Paper Bag" to the full-on club tunes from the like of Fatboy Slim, Bedrock and Paul Van Dyk via chillout classics from Nightmares On Wax and Moby, there isn't a duff track among them. Perfect for Caroline to practise her podium dancing to. --
