PLOT...
The Tall Man, that imposing menace from Morningside Mortuary, is back and once again haunting the thoughts of the now-adult Mike and his friend, ex-Ice Cream vendor Reggie. The two continue their hunt for the mysterious figure and in his path of destruction encounter a variety of dangerous situations, friends and enemies. They also must contend with the resurrected dead plus a growing number of the infamous and deadly silver spheres which aid the Tall Man as he sets his sights on indoctrinating Mike and finishing the fight begun so many years ago.
Phantasm 3 is pretty much exactly like the last 2 its once again Mike and Reggie running around trying to find the tall man so they can destroy him once and for all, the movie continues straight after the second movie with the return again of Reggie Bannister as Reggie and A. Michael Baldwin the original actor from the first movie as Mike, and of course Angus Scrimm as the evil tall man, once again too there is an addition of some nice female characters, the effects have certainly got better over the years with many cool effects like the flying sentinel death balls are now looking a lot more cool with more gadgets attached and the make-up effects look more cool on the midget slaves, plus various other bloody scenes of death, the characters have to deal more with some zombie dead slaves of the tall man chasing them too, this is certainly one horror sequel that is clearly only for fans of the series, a tad repetitive but still a good fun entry to the saga, if you love the first 2 movies you cant help but enjoy the further adventures of Reggie and Mike, the collection is not complete without it.

91-mins, 1994.

I ordered this dvd from the UK as it is still unavailable here in the US.Well, the picture quality is nice. It is full-screen with a trailer, picture gallery and a deleted Phantasm 1 scene as extras. My problem isthat every violent scene is severely edited. With the exception of thefoul language, you could show this on network tv in the States. I knowyour British censors are strict, but WOW! There's not a drop of blood tobe found on this version. For those UK "Phans" who have never seen theUNRATED US vhs version, this dvd is missing A LOT of the campy violence(including a LONG, very bloody "ball" drilling scene and a graphic axe inthe head shot). Oh well. It's all that's out there right now. Cheers!
