Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Fox Interactive's Die Hard Trilogy is a shoot 'em up, driving game and Hollywood action film all in one. The original film, Die Hard is more than 12 years old now, but this game and its sequels, Die Hard 2: Die Harder and Die Hard 3 With A Vengeance are as enjoyable as ever.

In the original film, John McClane's Christmas break with his wife is ruined when he is drawn into fighting terrorists on each floor of the Nakatomi Plaza. Once the navigation has bee mastered--walls are occasionally transparent--the aim of the game is to keep playing and shooting to reach the lift before the bomb goes off.

In Die Harder, the second film of the trilogy McClane is at Dules Airport in Washington to greet his wife. Unfortunately, some terrorists are out to ruin his day again by hijacking the airport. This section of the game takes on the first person perspective from the first levels--just keep shooting and avoid killing the hostages, with the best weapon being the RPG rocket. However, beware of the jeep that comes at you from inside the hangar.

Die Hard With A Vengeance places McClane in New York trying to track down terrorist bombs set to go off around the city. The gameplay once again changes and this time is based on you driving around the city trying to defuse the bombs. This can get a bit frustrating at times, simply because there is always a clock ticking and there is no room for error.

It's an advantage to have seen the films, to know the general premise of the game and relate to the characters, but not essential as you shoot, drive and attack your way to safety. --Paul Munford

4.0 out of 5 stars This Game was time consuming and took me a while to complete, 3 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This game was very time consuming and it took me nearly a month to complete, The first game is started in the basement and you have to work your way up the building floor by floor, killing hostages and stopping bombs from going off, because some terrorists have taken hostages among them John MccLane's wife you have to try and free them whilst staying alive. The second Game, you arre at the airport and you have to kill the terrorists before they kill you and blow up all the planes that are circling around the airport waiting to land, with little fuel left and you(John Mcclane) have to stop the terrorists from blowing up the airport and blowing up the planes in the, one of the planes which is low on fuel also contains John Mcclane's wife holly. The Third Game, You are in the city of New York and you have to drive around in the taxi cab stopping bombs from blowing up all over New York whilst there is a school somewhere that has got a bomb in it, you have to find the detonation code out as well as racing around the city trying to stop bombs blowing up. Overall i thought that the game was good and it was a new challenge to me, I liked the idea of all three games in one that was good and it didnt mean you had to load three different games on to your computer, they were just on one CD. The graphics on the game werent that good but they were respectable considering the games age.
