I'm only going by the cover pictured here to judge which product I'm reviewing. The Sabres are obvious quality which is neither detracted from, or accentuated here. All the tracks are fantastic. Depth Charge provide two quality mixes, the first of which stays true to the feel of 'Haunted Dancehall', but with a deeper, more rolling baseline. The Chemical Brothers do themselves proud on the next mix. A fairly mellow outing for them but with their typical urgency and fantastic use of samplers. Sounds like The Chemical Brothers, rather than the Sabres. Nightmares on Wax provide a mix of Bubble and Slide which is minimalist in the extreme, but keeps the feel of the album, and still retains a funky, danceable edge, if you are that way inclined. The second Depth Charge mix is possibly the star of the show, deep, dark, low down and funky. They should be proud of this one. A cracker. Minimalist again on the next track, Duke of Earlsfield, remixed by LFO. Again, retaining the feel of 'Haunted Dancehall' these masters of the art create a tripped out machine heaven. To complete this package, In the Nursery turn in a beatless mix of the albums' title track to chill you out and make you marvel at the musicians who are capable of making this kind of soul music.
