Set across the landscape of the Second World War, Hidden and Dangerous is played out in the style of Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear. Your task is to command a four-man team of soldiers through a series of 23 missions across enemy lines.

But be warned, this game is no walk in the park with the mission getting progressively harder as the campaigns go on; the usual gung ho approach doesn't work here. For starters, the bad guys are no longer blundering idiots waiting for you to attack. If they see you sneaking around they will raise the alarm and fire at you.

The weapons list to help you complete these missions is formidable, with everything from German Stick grenades to the impressive Bren gun. Yet firepower alone won't help you, with an equal balance of cunning, tactics and sometimes stealth needed to complete this game.

And if the plethora of Second World War weaponry isn't enough to keep you happy, then the thought of being able to interact with any machinery or weaponry found within the game might get you there.

This game is nothing short of brilliant and will have you playing into the small hours of the night attempting to complete the campaigns. It is best described as Tomb Raider set in the Second World War, but with bigger guns, more people and more powerful enemies. --Stuart Miles

An absolutely fabulous game. I really like the way you can change characters in mid game and the way you select equipment and distribute it amongst the characters you select is a really cool feature. The only reason I only rated 4 stars is because of the occasional bug but once I downloaded the latest patch from the TalonSoft web site it I suffered no more glitches. Anyone who likes Delta Force will love to play Hidden & Dangerous.

This game I believe is a National Treasure. I include the add on and H&D2.

If you have no WW2 soldier game and you are British, Australian, New Zelander, Canadian or anyone who is interested in the Coomandos and SAS, and you are going to buy your first get this one PLEASE. Buy others later but make tghis your first.

Yes there are bugs whhich are anoying and your team AI is slow and the Germans are impossible to beat without a milliaon saves.But the feel look and sound of this games really makes you feel like you are back in time. So if you having a quiet night in and the girlfriend has the Flu. Pour yourself a pint of bitter, cook a bacon butty. Watch the Guns of Navorone. Then play Hidden and Dangerous to success. Then the next day you can say you did your bit.

Hidden and Dangerous is a classic game. Set during WWII you command a group of four SAS soldiers on 23 diverse missions. The great thing is that the missions can change from the open countryside to the cold wastes of Norway to the urban metropolis of cities to a large forest.

Arguably the best thing about H&D is that you can choose from 40 soldiers who each have different stats (eg shooting accuracy,stealth strengh endurance..) Each soldier is unique because somebody with 40% strengh won't be able to carry as much weapons and ammo as somebody with 90%. A guy with 100% shooting is more likely to pop a German with increased accuracy than someone with 65%.

You can choose from a large variety of weapons, from the allies and the axis. There is a wide range including sub machine guns, machine guns, pistols, knives, and bazookas. You can get equipment like binoculars and mines. The amount you can receive depends on the weight because there is a certain weight limit. IE a bazooka takes up more room than a grenade.

The missions are pretty easy to begin with but as you progress you encounter more challenging missions.

There are quite a few bugs in this game, such as your soldier falling through the floor and dying.

Short on ammo? Steal that dead Germans gun. This is good.

You can issue commands to your soldiers so they follow you and you can play in 3rd or 1st person views.

H&D is a very good game even though it is quite old
