MORTAL KOMBAT AT IT'S BEST! ! !, 30 Jul 2005
For ages iv'e been a big fan of the Mortal Kombat games and films and since i played this one it has been my favorite from the start. This has the biggest selection of characters out of any Mortal Kombat games (40 characters) and hundreds of special moves, combos, fatalities, brutalities, animalities and Babalities! As well as having a huge range of new, or new looking, characters this game also features 2 origonal characters from Mortal Kombat 1 (Kano and Rayden) wich all come wit all their old fatalities and special moves, it also features 2 characters (Jax and Kung Lao) from Mortal Kombat 2, again they come with their origonal fatalities and moves! The 2 features that are only on Mortal Kombat Trilogy are the Brutalities wich allow you to batter your opponent 'till they explode and the AGGRESSOR meter wich (when full) will make your fighter faster and more powerful! This game is a must buy game for the MK fan and will even be good for people who have never heard of Mortal Kombat before! This game mixes classic game-play, grusome gore effects and decent graphict to make the ultimate fighting game! So your probably woundering why i'm giving it 4 stars, this is because i don't think it is as good as the first MK, Everything about this game is better than the origonal MK but when you play the origonal you get a much better gaming experience, dont ask me why, you just do. So buy this game, but if your just into classic arcade gaming, buy MK1. (i have wrote a review for the plug'n'play version of the origonal MK, chek it out).

mk trilogy, 19 Sep 2004
This is a truly great game which has a number of brilliant features. The graphics are both good and realistic, there is plenty of blood, the characters are well designed and the best part of all, the finishing moves. there are fatalities, babalities, frendships, animalities and brutalities. Each character has their own finishing moves and this is what makes the game great.Overall a fantastic game thats well worth the price!!!

Midway have got it right this time!, 1 Oct 2002
Throughout the last 10 years since the first MK game in the series appeared on the Megadrive and SNES we have seen midways "flagship" product hit plenty of highs and lows, MK2 was fresh with lots of new concepts and ideas, MK sub zero mythologies was a desperate farcical attempt to cash in on an already well established product, MK3 featured a few new characters but the idea wasnt new, then, midway released the most thorough and entertaining game in the series MK Trilogy. Ok, nothing about it is really original and yes we have seen it all before but the fact that the game features no less than 32 playable characters (including 4 bosses) is enough to give the game enough depth and variation to keep any beat em up fan hooked. With plenty of special moves and combos to master and various modes of play to complete there is plenty of longevity here. Graphically the game looks stunning, the digitised character sprites look great (although the animation does look a bit ropey at times)the backdrops ad to the atmosphere perfectly. The game sounds great with some good tunes and character voices (excellent!) and finally what MK title would be complete without the trademark finishing moves. This is one of the strongest features in the game, each character has up to 3 fatality manouvoures (some are truly stomach churning and some are very amusing indeed!), the ever popular frindships!, animalities, babalities (turn your opponent into a sobbing infant, very funny!) and the all new brutality which lets you beat your opponent into a pulp until they explode, hmmmm nice!. The game also features tonnes of cheats and codes to discover which add to the games depth. Overall this is a truly superb title with some great features, yeah it has its downsides, unoriginality being the main one, but, it has too many positive points to ignore. If you are a beat em up fan or a fan of the mortal kombat brand this is just too good to miss! buy it! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
