Product Description

Product Description

In "Mission: Impossible" players are transported into a 3-D world full of espionage, sabotage and all-out adventure. Players assume the role of lead Impossible Mission Force (IMF) field-agent Ethan Hunt as he words his way through five perilous missions. Ethan is not alone in his adventure; the IMF has placed at Ethan's disposal several capable team members who can be called upon to offer support. Throughout 20 levels of tension-filled action, Ethan will need to utilise wits and savvy to survive and successfully complete the daring missions. Cunning and know-how will prove more successful than hasty and reckless shooting in this series of top secret actions. The spy-thriller takes players on a whirlwind sequence of covert operations, each compounding in risk and danger, from the Russian Embassy in Prague to CIA headquarters in Langley, VA, to the climax at Waterloo Station in London. The game offers three different types of gameplay: Adventure --Players need to search for objects and weapons as they explore levels and interact with other characters to gain clues. Strategy is essential as players sneak around and solve puzzles without being noticed by other characters. Players can even steal an opponent's identity to enter a room full of guards unnoticed. Action--a large variety of gadgets and tools are available to outsmart enemies and help complete each mission. Arcade--particular levels call for arcade-syle action including shoot outs with guards while storming down river on a barge or squeezing through tunnels unnoticed riding on top of speeding trucks--anything to accomplish the mission. Features memory card and spoken dialogues with close caption option. A wide array of weapons are offered to Ethan throughout the game, including dart guns, gas injectors, smoke generators and blowpipes. Gadgets such as field scanners, wire cutters, night-vision goggles and the highly coveted face maker are provided by the IMF.

3.0 out of 5 stars What a shame, 7 April 2001
By A Customer
This could have been so much more. The game is mainly let down by it's length. It's just too short and unlike games like Metal Gear Solid it just doesn't have the same kind of re-play value. I'm not saying that this game is not good because it is. While it lasts it is enjoyable, the graphics are good and each mission offers something new. If you are a die-hard fan of the movies then this is a must, but for those of you who like long challenging games then it's probably best if you steer clear as you will only be dissapointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars oldie but goodie, 21 Sep 2008

Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Enjoyable on easy, challenging on hard - I liked this - although the graphics were blocky (not surprising due to the age and format) it played well and the aiming and AI was better than some much more modern games.
