An excellent narrative from simon gawesworth, covering the basics, in an easily followed progression for beginners. Techniques, and the basics of watercraft knowledge required to catch river fish covered.

I'm new to fly fishing (I've done a little). I really enjoyed this video - it really inspired me to get out there. Mr Gawesworth's approach to fishing and his manner are extremely intelligent, very calm and relaxed. He delivers a lot of very useful information - clearly demonstrating all the techniques you would probably use on a small river, and he conveys the skill and magic of fly fishing for trout in moving water in a most enjoyable way. His approach is stealthy, and thoughtful - he also clearly has great respect and affection for his quarry and he treats them with great care when captured - very nice to see. The location on the top of the Torridge is fly fishing heaven - really makes you long to be there! Overall, the movie is not only clear and informative but is also very, very nice to watch.
