Last of the Magic Bands but still cuts the mustard, 18 Feb 2001

This album gives us a reminder of how powerful all the Beefheart Magic bands were. Recorded at the end of his recordig career, the band swing effortlessly from the Good Captain's very first album Safe as Milk (Abba Zaba) to much later stuff. Makes your hair stand on end!! If only he'd got a decent recording contract perhaps he'd be delivering albums to this day! Still, his talent isn't wasted - his painting are something else
