When it comes to police in games they are normally quite weak. This weakness is easiest noticed in games that involve driving.

However here EA have dared to create cops that are the meanest bunch of badge holders since America's deep south. The boys in blue here start off by merely yelling at you through megaphones, they quickly tire of this method however and branch out into more thuggish methods. Expect your shiny sports car to be rammed, boxed in by reinforcements. Add to this that they also setup roadblocks to track you down, radio for support from very fast special unit plus slash your tires with spikes and suddenly you realise that speeding here is pubic enemy number one.

Yet all of these great features for making the chase addictive would be fruitless if the game did not support them. Evidently EA realised this and as such made the game run at a blinding 50 frames per second, a frame rate that results and swift graphic updates and as a result you end up in a fast and furious speed chasing onslought.

Overall if you are after that elusive game where the police fight back and you are addicted to speed then seek this out.

I first got NFS3 years ago and didn't stop playing it till my Playstation broke! The game is excellent, the cars are fantastic and the way they handle in simulation mode makes it a challenge, add to this you can choose to have a police chase and you soon learn to gas it and slide round corners hoping to get across the finnish line before you get jailed. A great thing I like about the game is the music, especially on the Empire City track, it's just perfect for the game and gives you that buzz which makes you feel more involved with the game. My advice is put it in simulation mode, play the tournament and prepare to fight for the finnish!

Excellent,flexible game. Like the idea of role reversal - speeder or police - you can choose. Great variety of cars too.
