The easiest way to turn your Palm Handheld into a digital camera is with the KODAK PalmPix Camera.
PalmPix adds visual capture capability to your Palm. Compact, lightweight and easy to use, PalmPix lets you frame, take, view and transfer pictures to your Palm through its serial connector. Take 24-bit colour VGA pictures and review your images in colour on the Palm IIIc LCD, or view images in greyscale on other models. Then transfer to your desktop or laptop just like your other data using the HotSync cradle.

PalmPix includes a 2X digital zoom (VGA 640 x 480 mode only) to help you get closer to the action. Once uploaded to the host computer, images can be saved, manipulated and e-mailed as standard BMP or JPEG files. It's just a few steps from shooting to sharing. Nothing could be easier! Compatible with Palm III, IIIc, IIIe, IIIx, IIIxe, VII, IBM Workpad, and TRGpro. Also compatible with Palm V and Vx models with required Dock V adapter. (Dock V adapter sold separately.)

I bought it last September, and it is nice. Now I have a digital camera in my pocket, without having to leave my Palm at home. Well, I knew it cannot replace my Canon EOS reflex camera nor every single gadget (objetives, filters, flash, tripod, and so on), but I like it. There are some points you must be aware of, anyway: usually the photos are not so sharp as you would like, and one of every two times it don't want to work for me. Sometimes it says (wrongly) the batteries are drained, and sometimes the photo is unacceptable. But the ones that are good are worth the effort. Summary: acceptable.

Kodak as usual provides us all with the best technology thats around and with this camera you won't be disapointed! This fantastic portable size camera has everything you want and need, it's durable and most important of all it's usable! No techno grabage and is easily very adictive! Once you pick this camera up you can't put it down. It has the latest camera gadgets and is sleek and cool. After all the fantastic points I've made about this camera you'd think, What else could you possibly tell me? Well here I go... this camera, thanks to amazon, is at a fantastic price. If you are looking for a 'cool' camera this is the camera for you.

I'll make this one short but nice. Quality is not that good because sometimes it gets blured for some ubknown reasons, maybe its very sensittive to motion that even slight motion will screw it up. But some times it's ok even if i move...no idea why. Another thing is that it shows wrong memory count. Me and my friend both brought a palm Pix at another place, he has a 1.5 megabyte of ram left in his balm and I had 4. Both somes that we can only take 16 high res pictures and on his, after taking 2, he has no space to put any more but low res pictures... Plus, I found a weird problem that it i can only store 2 megabytes of pictures in a 3 megabyte space. This is because when I hotsynced my pics,I compared the amout of pics to the amout of ram I have left in there. I think there is some serious bugs in their palm software.

On the up side, it's very fun to use and very portable. Instead of 2 individual devices, now I have one. It's also fun to use. Just take picture anywhere, and keep it for ever. The batterys lasts long time, I toke like 80 pictures and battery is still almost full in my palmpix. It also does not drain alot of the Palm's battery either since it uses it's own. LCD and Serial linke is the only source of drain.

I was suprised that it toke better than expected picture in very low light conditions, which is a plus since it doesn't come with a flash..but don't expect too much tho.

Over all, this is enjoyable if you are looking for some cheap thing to capture your memories, if you want quality pics.....for get it. Last thing is that this thing is still abit too expensive for what it has to offer.
