5.0 out of 5 stars ECW = EXTREEM !!! Need I say more, 4 Nov 2000
By A Customer
I had never seen ECW on television or tape, so I didn't really know what to expect.

The show opened with a cool introduction from Styles & Gertner. The show had some great opening matches who brought the crowd really into the PPV. This PPV had it all, from highflying, to brawling to weapons it had it all. Two good opening matches with Spike Dudley taking on simon diamond and Nova taking on Little Guido. They were good opening matches with a lot of speed and quick wrestling in it. Although it were short matches, it was very entertaining. Then came preferably the best match of the night when Tajiri faced off against Super Crazy and Jerry Lynn. This three way dance turned out to be one hell of a fight with great moves by all three competitors. This match was not as violence as others, but it was a very entertaining and a match with very high risk moves. The next match was havoc throughout the whole arena. Angel of the Baldies had stapled New Jack and Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney were looking for revenge in a 4 on 2 handicap match against the Baldies. This was an all out brawl which saw New Jack come out and fight with the chair swinging freaks against the Baldies for revenge on Angel. Look for one hell of a move in this match. Sabu vs. Candido could be much better than it was. Both wrestlers hit great moves and it sure was an entertaining match, but it was too long. the fans were into it in the beginning, but that died out in the middle when there weren't much high risk moves, but in the end of the match the moves were very cool and the crowd was right back in the match. Then it was time for the greatest title match I have ever seen in wrestling. Mike Awesome defended the ECW World Heavyweight Title against Masato Tanaka. This was a very big test for Awesome. Could he finally defeat Tanaka? Tanaka had already beaten Awesome twice, while Awesome hadn't beaten Tanaka before. Can Awesome do it with the momentum he has as Champion or will Tanaka beat Awesome for the third time in his career and put the ECW World Heavyweight Title around his waist? This match was so violence and both guys throwed all out for the ECW World Heavyweight Title. The the TV Title match between Tazz and RVD, I thought it was an average match with some great moves by both wrestlers. I heard a lot of negative comments towards this match, but I thought it was a good match. not as good as TAzz vs. RVD sounds but it was a good match. the main event of the night was awesome. although it was a bit short. It was Rhino & The Impact Players vs. Raven, Dreamer & Sandman. It was a good match with a couple of singapore cane smashes. It was cool to see how a team that can't get along (Raven, Sandman & Dreamer) would take an the cohesive unit Rhino & the Players. It was an all out brawl with good and great moves.

-Spike vs. simon Diamond 7/10 -Guido w/Sal vs. Nova 7/10 -Tajiri vs. Lynn vs. Super Crazy 9/10 -Baldies vs. Mahoney & Rotten & New Jack 7/10 -Sabu vs. Candido 6/10 -Awesome vs. Tanaka 10/10 -Taz vs. RVD 7/10 -Rhino & Impact Players vs. Raven, Dreamer & Sandman 8/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Remember I will!!!, 12 Jun 2003

Basicly, the only reason U need to get this tape is the ECW World Championship fight between Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka. These 2 bitter rivals throw everything they've got at eachother, and really made the card one to cherish!
Rob Van Dam and Taz had a decent contest for the TV championship. This match was hyped up to be the most anticipated ECW match of all time, but there's no way it touched the class Tanaka and Awesome pulled out. It was also Taz's last PPV in ECW.
The main event was a 6 man tag between Justin Credible, Lance Storm and Rhino Vs. The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer and Raven. The match was a little sloppy and should've have been swapped with Tanaka Vs. Awesome.
Other matches were Spike Dudley Vs. Simon Diamond in a poor opener. Little Guido Vs. Nova in a great contest. New Jack/Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten Vs. The Baldies in an awesome hardcore affair! Once again New Jack damn near kills himself for revenge over Angel. Sabu Vs. Chris Candido in a great brawl were Sabu was dedicating the match too his best friend Tichio who recently died before this. And, Jerry Lyn pulls out another awesome performance in a 3 way dance with Tajiri and Super Crazy. Jerry Lynn should really have been put further up the card, and it's a damn shame the WWE can't bring thereselves to sign this amazing performer. Super Crazy and Tajiri performed great aswell.

N2R shows how strong ECW was in 99. It's a shame they coundn't retain this sort of strength in late 2000.

4.0 out of 5 stars Definetly a november to remember, 14 Jan 2002
ECW proved, for the first time in the three NTR's on PPV, that it was a November to Remember. Admittedly, it starts out badly, with Spike Dudley vs. Simon Diamond in an impromptu opener, lasting all of about 2 minutes. It gets much better though, as Nova takes on Guido in a very solid match. It quickly follows up with a very good 3-Way dance between Tajri/Lynn/Crazy. It takes a major step down, with a boring, slow moving brawl with the Baldies vs. New Jack/Mahoney/Rotten. Of course it picks up again with a hardcore, if somewhat heatless Sabu/Candido match. Next up are the 3 main events. The first, somewhat surprisingly, is the ECW Title match between Tanaka & Awesome. In possibly the best PPV title match up to that point, they deliver a very brutal and VERY exciting match. Next up is Taz vs. RVD, in a solid, if very dissapointing match, which would be Taz's last for the hardcore company. The final match is a six man tag with the Impact Players & Rhino vs. Sandman/Dreamer/Raven. In a rushed, if entertaining match. It is probably the best introduction to ECW you can buy, and it is a very good show. Recommended.
