4.0 out of 5 stars Mission Impossible 2 - Hans Zimmer, 3 Jul 2002
Hans is well known for his ability to blend electronic and accoustic styles together to make high tempo film scores. His distinctive style is often punctuated by captivating electric guitar solos, but on MI2 he went one further. Now the soundtrack is littered with guitar riffs and the obligatory MI2 riff kicks in at various points during the album.

Every track is different and exciting. It really helps you re-visualise the film if you've already seen it.

Forget the stupid rock inspired soundtrack and try this instead. Yeah, its even got a bit of vocals here and there - the Lisa Gerrard stuff is especially haunting.

Great stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Music from the blockbuster film, 24 Nov 2000
By A Customer
This is the orginal score for the film mission impossible 2. Although the score is not complete it does contain the best bits. If you are a fan of mission impossible or like music then this is for you. The best track on there is Injection, this really is Hans Zimmer at his best. Also see the film to get full effect of the music. It al ways helps being able to place the music with pictures, or at least that is how I feel. Anyone who has seen the film or is a fan should have a copy.

Also see music from and inspired by mission impossible 2 for more music from the score.

5.0 out of 5 stars Deja Vu, 22 Sep 2001
By jeremy.j@ntlworld.com (Idiot, Pringleville) - See all my reviews
Hans Zimmer: the greatest one-trick horse working in film music today. What do you get if you cross the soundtrack to The Rock, Gladiator and Hackers? This. Be disapointed. Be very disapointed.

Just kidding! It's as spectacular as all his work! Corny, Tacky, Stupid, and absurdly enjoyable!

This one inexplicably received a critical slaughtering when it was released. Granted the abundance of heavy metal can become a little tedious, but there are some truly amazing... Read more
