Two totally wonderful albums - both Rock Follies and Rock Follies 77 - Its hard to think that these two albums are over 20 years old - It now seems so strange that in the old days we use to be glued to our seats every week waiting for the next show of Rock Follies - but having heard them all again its a shame that there is no TV showings of this anymore to remind us of all the great songs that went with the series..... In the series there were many versions of the songs, of which some were better than the album versions - Both of the albums brings the old and new together in what was a kind of 1930s 50s and 70s state of mind..Glen Miller is Missing to the powerful rock of *The Road* *The Real Life* etc lets hope the videos or the series are shown again and again:)) two very collectable albums

Back in 1976 the UK was sweltering under a heatwave, but it wasn't just the weather that was hot. Everyone was talking about this new TV comedy-drama whoch told the story of an all female rock band as it tried to hit the big time. The music was snappy and fresh, composed by Roxy Music's Andy Mackay, while Howard Schuman's lyrics sparkled with wit and wry observation. The show topped the ratings, and the soundtrack album, now at last on CD, rocketed into the album charts at No.1, taking Julie Covington, Rula Lenska and Charlotte Cornwall into the limelight.

Musically the album ranges from stomping pub rock (Good Behaviour) to classy ballads (Stairway) to gritty bitter sweet songs about infidelity (Lamplight) to 40's pastiche (Glenn Miller is Missing and the bonus track, War Brides).

All in all a fab album that has been begging for release. If you were around in the 70s and like your rock with a feminine twist, then this album stands high with its fresh appeal and superb production values.

Forget the Monkees, forget PopStars, this was the definitive TV rock music series. The songs are outstanding, with the lyrics being an integral part of the storyline for the series.
