Robotic super-hero Mega Man is set to explode back on to the Playstation and PC in the third instalment of Capcom's exhilarating action series.

Mega Man X3 is the most ambitious and challenging game in the series so far, featuring dozens of new gameplay options, weapons and of course enemies. Together with Zero, the high-powered robot that he rescued so spectacularly in his previous adventure, Mega Man must ultimately confront a deadly new menace, Doppler, a super-intelligent Maverick. Holed up on an Island fortress, Doppler has created eight new warrior maverick reploids to defend him; Neon Tiger, Blast Hornet, Volt Catfish, Gravity Beetle, Blizzard Buffalo, Tunnel Rhino, Toxic Seahorse, Crush Crawfish and the twin terrors Bit and Byte. Throughout the 12 Stages of the game (plus a special hidden level) players can choose to be either Mega Man or Zero, Both have unique powers suited to different situations.

Mega Man X3 harnesses the power of Capcom's unique C4 Chip to create awesome 3-D scaling and rotating effects.

There are some games that you pick up and play and sell, having had a gret time before moving on, and then there are the ones you play and never let go. This is one of the second.

One of the first Playstation games released, Megaman X3 is possibly the last great 'pure' platformer, with split-second timing and dexterity to make a piano player wince required.

It uses graphics amazing for the time, and all of the formulas that made the originals a success are here. One of the final remaining greats.
