This was really disappointing. The basis of the album is a fine idea. It is very hard to be a roaring lamb.

The artists involved looked exciting, the music was not. Very uninspirational.

This only gains two stars because the Jars of Clay track is so good.

The Delirious? track is different to the previously available version, so that may be a reason to buy it.

The others were not impressive to me at all!

But I was not impressed.

This CD has some excellent songs on it!

The Delirious track doesn't quite match up to the excellence of the original version on their deEPer CD-single, but to my mind, the other tracks more than make up for this. I particularly like the Jars of Clay, Burlap to Cashmere and Over the Rhine tracks. - if you're wondering who these artists are, buy the CD; you won't be disappointed!

The only drawback is that with such a diverse selection of songs and artists, the tracks don't quite meld together to make an impressive whole. Ladysmith Back Mambazo are excellent singers, but sandwiching them between tracks by PFR and Delirious? leaves the listener wondering what's gone wrong! A different track order might have made this an exceptional recording.

Take each track on its own merits, and its fine, but try to search for a common theme or style, and you'll soon miss the point. Even so, I give this 4 out of 5, just on the basis of the individual tracks.
