Synopsis
CENTURY OF GOLF presents former European Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher charting the development of the game from its earliest beginnings on the eastern coast of Scotland to its popular status at the end of the century. The programme uses rare archival film to recall great players of the past--Harry Varden, Bobby Jones, Henry Cotton, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, and others--and also features more recent footage of golf giants such as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and, of course, Tiger Woods.
