4.0 out of 5 stars Music fan, 17 Dec 2001
Era's second album simply entitled ERA 2 was released in 2000. Although it still follows the same formula as before, and still features the English Chamber Choir it is definitely less aggressive and more mainstream than its predecessor. All tracks are once again composed by Eric Levi and overall the songs are more gentle and even more pop-orientated. There are still songs like Divano and Sentence (with some powerful vocals by Lena Jinnegren) which hark back to the epic style displayed in the first album. An old favourite from the first ERA album Avemano gets a complete reworking and remixing on this album as Misere Mani with English female vocals (once again by Lena) which makes the song very radio-friendly. But the slight change in style overall may not be enough to sustain the fans, and if you are longing for the old, bombastic Era style take a listen instead to Lesiëm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beauty, 1 Aug 2003

This review is from: Era 2 (Audio CD)
This is the best Era album, there is no doubt about that. Era's latest release 'The Mass' was something new for Era which didn't quite work well enough. Era's first attempt 'Era' was strong but with only 10 songs where 4 are the same as each other gives it a down fall. This album also only has 10 songs, with a track taken from the first album and one of the songs, the last one, 'In Fine' is only 35 seconds long but there is a hidden track at the end of it. The songs themselves are quality. My favourite has to be the first one 'Omen Sore' which is just beautiful. Eric Levi is just a genius in this album. Every song has such precision - the orchestrations are perfect and as for the chants/vocals ... they take your breath away. the solo female vocalist has a beautiful voice and blends beautifully with the chants (she was absent from the first album). This is an album with variety and can certainly relax too. If you are going to buy an Era album, let it be this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars I never thought music like this existed ! ! !, 15 Feb 2005
If you like chior singers , rich techo music , echoing vocals
and a sweeping soundscape then this is for you to , it sounds
busy but surprisingly it's all in harmanoy.i've always liked chior singing but found it a bit dull on it's own.and love this
cd for pep'ing things up a bit, it's taken all the things i love
in music and put them together .if you like enigma's 'gravity of love' or there 'saddnes ' then this is for you. i've already ordered there other two album's without hearing a singel utter'rance , so richley layered , and powerful , with lyric's
like...i'll stand in the rain/and hope the for the sun to come
though /so i tell you about /the beauty and the light.
with up-beat chior singing and drum beat's though out, i listened
to this cd so many times .and i'am still hearing new things
BLISS, i did'nt want it to end.
