Why would anyone want a serial cradle?

Well, at home, my machine runs USB happily. My work machine runs NT, so doesn't handle the USB cradle. Additionally, as a developer, I want to use the Visor ROM image in conjunction with POSE (PalmOS Emulator, for those who don't know). Since POSE can't use USB either, this was the only way I could download the ROM image.

It *is* significantly slower than USB, so if you have the option of using USB, please take it (and have Handspring send you the ROM once you fill out all the forms...). Having said that, this thing does have its place. Mostly, on my desk at work.
