4.0 out of 5 stars One of their best CDs and happy memories of a great gig, 9 Nov 2001
By A Customer
I was at one of the two concerts at The Venue Victoria from which this recording is taken, and bought this album (then called 'Bye Bye Blues')on vinyl shortly afterwards. This CD version with extra tracks reminds me just how energetic The Blues Band were back then. Now the proud owner of all their CDs I'd say there are others which are technically superior (including the excellent 'Back for More' and their best ever, 'Homage') but this is consistently enjoyable and demonstrates why they're still a great live act now. The band's critics have sometimes implied that they're too commercial to be a 'proper' blues band but this CD shows that to be the nonsense it's always been - just listen to the blues in Dave Kelly's vocal on 'Grits Aint Groceries' if you need any proof. There's something for everyone here: it helps me recall one of the best gigs I've ever been to, and my kids just love dancing to it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost as good as being at one of the concerts., 16 Sep 2000
By A Customer
Its a rare thing to listen to a band where nearly all the performers take a turn at the mike. Lead by Paul Jones and Dave Kelly this music never tires from being listened to. The energy and enthusiasm that the band puts it into never fails to have your feet tapping before the first bars over with. After over twenty years together the music is as fresh as the first time you hear it. A must for all fans of the blues and even those who are not die hard blues fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Blues Band revival, 18 Jul 2009

I have been looking for this record in the back of my mind until I found it on amazon. Altough it was bought from a third party, the delivery time was excelent. Blues band are a group of british blues lovers, good musicians and with a particular style. The CD was in excelent condition and included some extra tracks (I had the old vinyl version only).
