5.0 out of 5 stars Urgent and exciting, 31 Oct 2001
By A. SLINGSBY "Alan Slingsby" (London, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
It was with joy I saw that the 1982 album I have been playing on a nearly expired cassette is now available on CD.
I know very little about Irish music; but this album demonstrated to me that it is the music, not the instruments or amplification that make what you hear exciting.
There is an urgency in the music that reminds me of the best jazz along with a Bach-like precision.
Listening to the acoustic instruments' unaccustomed sound can take me to a windswept Irish coast, even as I sit in a London traffic jam.
