5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Saint, 3 Jan 2001
By mark_jacobsen@hotmail.com (Melbourne, Australia) - See all my reviews
Vendetta For The Saint is two colour episods of the Classic TV series The Saint, joined together to make a feature film. The result is a classic Saint adventure that goes twice as far. The story has our hero travelling to Italy where he gets mixed up in murder and intreague as he sets out to prove that the Mafia's new Don (head) is not all he seems. Vendetta For The Saint has all the usual elements, fast cars, pretty girls, gun fights, chases, murder and mystery. It is guarenteed to please whether a Saint fan or not.

3.0 out of 5 stars A must for collectors... but sorry, no cigar, 12 April 2005
Those of you who are wizened enough to remember Roger Moore as "the Saint" will probably appreciate this, the only "modern" feature length Saint story. Compared to many of the standard 30 minute episodes on normal TV, the story is true(ish) to the original story, not having suffered through having large portions of the plot "cut away" to make it more palatable or commercial for TV - on the other hand, lots of stereotypical acting from Moore, Hendry and Amee (forgotten surname) do little to capture the menace of Charteris' original characters. Effectively it is an hour and half Saint story, OK, but not wonderful. For the nearest glimpse of a Charteris story accurately portrayed by Roger Moore at his best as the Saint, try "The Golden Journey". now available on video and DVD.
