Product Description
Amazon.co.uk Review
They're packing enough sheer oomph to blow up your VCR, they're delivering turbocharged roars fit to wake the dead and they're barely restrainable as they rev up on the asphalt--and that's just the presenters. Oh yeah, there's a bunch of cars, too, not to mention some boats and planes and ice-racing and stuff. The BBC's Top Gear is of course the grandmother of all motoring programmes and here the irrepressible Tiff Needell tries out some formidable cars from TVR, BMW, Ferrari, Nissan, Subaru, Porsche, Jaguar, Aston Martin (the latter still oozing panache) and others, while the honorary-lad-of-the-type-we-can-never-resist Vicki Butler-Henderson gets to deliver a monologue on the refurbishment of fighter planes--except she does it from the cockpit in mid-flight in a kind of well-bred shout. The cars are, supposedly, all production models (a "production" F1 McLaren?!), although a production car with a dial on the dashboard which measures acceleration in gravities--yes, a G-force meter!--is probably not coming soon to that dealership near you. The closest the tests get to practicality is the checking of the boot space to see if it'll accommodate a golf bag, which is exactly as it should be in this fun-packed homage to total fantasy motoring. --Roger Thomas

Synopsis
The Top Gear's most formidable test driver, Tiff Needell, puts a collection of the world's sexiest machines through their paces. Featuring the Porsche 911, the McLaren F1 and the Jaguar XK180 prototype.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of Tiff Needells finest moments, 11 Aug 2001
By A Customer
This is an absoulty superb video. Tiff Needell is totally at home, driving supercars (and a boat) to and beyond their limits. ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Caterham, BMW, Porsche are all here, and as well, a little Nissan Micra. But beware, dont try and burn away from the Nissan at the lights. Total awesome, and packed with little one-liners, and a little comedy scene (the night club.) Buy buy buy. It will be the best purchase you make all year. I have watch my first video almost to the point that it is wearing out!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tiff never ceases to amaze me!, 10 Oct 2002

It's one thing to watch a regular TV show where the hosts talk about a car, but don't really give it a good flogging (let alone use the handbrake). But Tiff shows us the limits of a car and beyond as he shreds car tires while drifting. Top Gear music selection is always spot on with music that raises your pulse. Yes, many of these cars are not available in the U.S., but with money being no object, most are available as track day cars. Just seeing the video of the Caterham makes me want to go out and buy one!
