4.0 out of 5 stars DOUBLE DYNAMITE [JANE RUSSELL], 28 Sep 2009
By Mr. W. J. Wright - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
DOUBLE DYNAMITE,1948,released in cinemas 1951/1952,is a great black and white made comedy[with songs]that co-stars three legends-FRANK SINATRA-the beautiful-JANE RUSSELL-and-GROUCHO MARX-all three legends act well together-and it is a laugh.
DOUBLE DYNAMITE-has Johnny Dalton[Sinatra]wanting to marry his girlfriend Mildred or Mibs[Russell]but he has a lowly paid bank job.Johnny Dalton's pal Emil J.Keck[Marx]steps in to help the couple get married.DOUBLE DYNAMITE[JANE RUSSELL]is a great romantic comedy-and is a laugh with the three main legendary leads and a cast of fine character actors. It includes some fine songs sung by the three main leads-including a fine duet with Sinatra and Russell singing a song-each in own beds-in a hotel's adjoining rooms, and another fine duet with Sinatra and Marx singing a song whilst walking down a busy street[but was actually filmed in a studio setting with a backdrop moving scene behind them].These two duets/songs are as follows-"KISSES AND TEARS"[Sinatra/Russell]-and-"IT'S ONLY MONEY"[Sinatra/Marx].
DOUBLE DYNAMITE[JANE RUSSELL]certainly is.
Regards,Bill.
