4.0 out of 5 stars Jason has salvaged some dignity in this Final Friday., 27 Mar 2002
In the late 70's and early 80's classic horrors were born. In 1978 Halloween took the world by storm and went on to become the most succesful independent motion picture of all time. In 1980 Friday 13th was released and resembeled a certain 1978 film by the one and only John Carpenter. Who cared? For every horror fan this was brilliant and quite a good sequile followed. Friday 13th Part 3 to part 8 seemed to go from bad to worse and soon the classic setting of Camp Crystal Lake was lost, and some thought would never be found. Jason was even found in Manhatten and disappointed many fans. In this Final Friday we are reunited with Camp Crystal Lake and I am sure fans of Jason will think that this film is a brilliant way of saying good-bye to Jason. Everyone loves an exciting opening to a film and you can't get more exciting than this, but you will have to watch to understand.
We are introduced to many new things that we never knew about one of our favourite murderers of all times and of course there are many subtle twists to the plot. Enjoy this film with a group of your friends and try not to take it too seriously. Watch out for an interesting cameo from another well known killer at the end of the movie. Jason has salvaged some dignity from this final horror and this is an enjoyable movie well worth buying.
This is the end of Jasons reign of terror, or is it?
