4.0 out of 5 stars Singles and Songles!, 20 May 2002
This singles and songles album seems to fit together in a very curious way, all the tracks seem to belong which is strange because they were all recorded for different projects.
This album contains the same mix of naratives, quirky love songs and general surealness as can be found in 'The Gay Parade'.
There are some truely great 'Sgt Pepperesque' pop songs here, there are some charming childlike ditty's, there are some brilliant melodies which you will find yourself singing.
This album has elements of all the 'Of montreal' albums too, it has the sense of heart break which is so acute in 'Cherry peel', the charming acoustic, low production of 'Petite Tradgedy' and the craziness and dandiness of 'The Gay Parade'.
It is very good introduction to the band!
