Product Description
Description
Glenn Danzig, the grand poobah of dark alternative music, has deigned here to release an album that moves beyond traditional metal scare tactics. His gothic croon is no longer outin front of the music; instead it has been scrunched up anddistorted into a rusty howl. And urban dance beats and industrial-sounding guitars have been injected into these sinister songs.
With the new additions, the album exudes all the spooky acrimony you've come to expect from Mr. Danzig. Butthis is no longer the sound of a straight-up, pentagram-wearing, devil-worshipping band. Now Danzig conveys an underground kind of terror, something akin to the feeling you might get looking out over an abandoned industrial complex in a blackened metropolis.

4.0 out of 5 stars More metal innovation, 14 Mar 2002
As per usual with Glenn Danzig this album is extremely different to the others. The usual heavy guitar riffs are there; to be fair, only Satan's Child is heavier. But there is a strong mix of industrial dance music too. Notable tracks are the remix of Deep from the X-Files soundtrack, and Hand of Doom ,a re-write of an old Sabbath song. Also worth mentioning are the impending darkness of Bleedangel and the bleakness of Ashes. There is also somewhat of a return to Danzig's punk roots with Power Of Darkness. It may not at first seem like the best album in the world, but stick with it and it will grow on you.
