Synopsis

In HEMOGLOBIN, John Strauss (Roy Dupuis) is dying from a mysterious blood disease. Having traced his roots to an eerie New England island, John arrives there with his wife, Kathleen (Kristin Lehman), in the vain hope that he may find a cure and a link to his family. He succeeds in discovering some relatives--unfortunately, they happen to be horribly deformed creatures. Rutget Hauer also stars in this chillingly grotesque horror film.

5.0 out of 5 stars the poorest movie of all time. It had me in stitches, 29 Oct 2000
This film is set on an island with a small town on it.A mysterious stranger returns to the island in a bid to track down any living relatives as he is an orphan. While he is on the island, he discovers he has a rare illness. Not knowing what to do he enlists the help of the islands doctor (Rutger Hauer), only to find out that he needs human flesh to survive(could this get any worse?). Enter the strangers family,a motley crew of inbred freaks who dwell underground in tunnels. They suffer from the usual kinds of mutations, deformed limbs , bloated bodies,1 or more eye's etc etc.10 points for guessing the family name....they are the VAN DAMME family! I could'nt believe my ears! After watching this film, i've never been able to look at Jean-Claude VAN DAMME the same way.I highly recomend this film, not for the horror content, but for the comedy!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The above is true. This film sucks in a good way., 12 Aug 2008

(REAL NAME)
All I can add to that is if you want to see helpless, fit, tall and able bodied people, with guns get eaten by small, crippled, deformed midgets that look like ball sacks armed only with tiny knives this is your film.

Laugh! as the protagonist eats a foetus and makes love to his girl for no reason, wonder! why they place the girl who cant speak on guard duty.

!Bonus! contains incest and cannibalism!!!
