Playboy's Celebrity Special with Joanne Guest is a 50-minute TV show devoted to, according to the hype, "Britain's most lusted after and photographed fantasy girl". Whatever, this programme gives the home viewer the chance to check out the lady's assets and experience the fantasy almost at first hand, with the Playboy label ensuring a certain holiday-show glossiness to the production. The profile is divided into short video-style sequences, some shot in England, others in the rather more sensual and sunny Portugal. It's here that Joanne is interviewed near the beach and talks briefly about her background as well as revealing a sordid fantasy of her own. The main action is filled with eight fantasy scenes, all involving Joanne gradually shedding her clothes and cavorting solo in various locations. In a park, on the beach, in the shower, on a snooker table, an outdoor swimming pool and finally, coyly recreating the infamous rose petal scene from La Bête (1975) in an English country garden. Only the change of locations and style of music prevent each scene from being more of the same, but if an overdose of Ms Guest is in order this is the one to choose.

On the DVD: Celebrity Special with Joanne Guest is as basic as they come, offering just scene selection as a "feature". The picture is non-anamorphic 14:9 and is good but not exceptional, the stereo sound routine. Gary S Dalkin

Disappointing is the only word I can use to describe this effort at erotica. Even by BBFC standards this was tame and failed dismally to live up to expectations.
It was like looking at a page 3 photo for 52mins.

Considering the potential for 52 minutes of Jo Guest, this was disappointing. Jo does what she knows best in eight scenes intercut with clips from an interview. The scenes are ok, but fairly standard. Including the interview was probably a mistake as Jo does herself little credit here. All in all, an ok buy for Jo Guest fans, but not as good as you'd hope/expect.

Of its type the Joanne Guest Playboy Special is very good indeed.
Its a very straightforward juxtoposition of an interview with Jo and various erotic stripteases in a variety of locales.
You get to learn her tastes and preferences, how she became a glamour model and even her favorite positions and fantasies.
The erotic scenes cover a number of fantasies being set on a tennis court, in a shower, on the beach and on a snooker table amongst others.
She comes over as a confident and amusing women, aware of her body and not afraid to display it.
Also thanks to the scene selection option you can go straight to your favorite sequence.
One of the best 'Playboy' DVD titles, only 'Night Calls' Volume Two betters it.
