Product Description

Synopsis
In 'Dancing Masters', Ollie and Stan find themselves in another fine mess when they are evicted from their dancing school for non-payment of rent. In 'Great Guns', the duo star as personal servants to a wealthy, spoiled socialite. When their boss is drafted into the army, the boys follow him, to take care of him. In 'The Bullfighters', Stan and Ollie blunder their way around Mexico as private detectives sent from the States in search of a lady criminal.

European Laurel & Hardy fans are luckier than their American counterparts, because they can enjoy this boxed set which is unavailable in America. THE DANCING MASTERS is a relaxed hour of laughs as Stan and Ollie bungle their way through life. They operate a dancing school, upset an auction, wreck a ray gun, ride a runaway bus... you get the idea! GREAT GUNS is a military comedy which is handicapped by a weak script, but there are some good moments (Laurel has to hide a crow down Hardy's trousers during inspection). THE BULLFIGHTERS, co-written and co-directed by Stan Laurel without screen credit, has the boys in Mexico City, where Stan has to pose as a matador. These 1940s efforts are not in the same league as the team's classics of the 1920s and 1930s, but they are entertaining and enjoyable.
