1.0 out of 5 stars POINTLESS, 26 Feb 2009
This review is from: Goose Steps Out [DVD] [1942] (DVD)
A total rip off , do not spend your hard earned money on this utterly pointless release of what is a fabulous film in its original length , whoever is responsible for cutting it to ribbons has no idea of the comic genius this country once produced.

2.0 out of 5 stars Classic Film but avoid this Video Version, 20 Jan 2003
By A Customer
This is an absolute classic of wartime comedy. Will Hay, Charles Hawtery and Peter Ustinov all on great form. I would, under normal circumstances, give this film 5 out of 5 but I have just purchased a copy and found that two of the funniest scenes in the film have been cut from this print. The two scenes are the pronunciation of British towns (Slough, Cirencester etc) and the 'Invasion of Britain' scene on the train (Panzers down in the Severn Tunnel etc.). So my advice would be definitely see this film but save your money and wait for it to be shown on television.

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid at all costs, 1 Jan 2009
By UK Scribe (Bromley Kent) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Goose Steps Out [DVD] [1942] (DVD)
Although the description of this DVD says that it is 79 minutes long (which is the actual length of the original film), it is actually only 66 minutes so 13 minutes have gone missing somewhere. This is enough of a discrepancy to make a real difference, especially as some of the funniest scenes are the ones missing. A pretty pointless release which I can absolutely not recommend.
