As part of a collection this DVD is essential as it catalogues all the goals from the tournament from start to finish.

The only problem is that there is nothing else apart from the goals. There is not even the penalty shootouts or some of the exciting passages of play from important matches.

What is also frustrating is that there is also no commentry to guide you through the tournament, which makes the DVD extremely annoying as you do not know what teams need to progress from the group stages.

On the whole this DVD is quite a hollow experience but if its goals you want, you cant lose.

Yes it shows all the goals. None of the penalty shootouts. Nil nil draws are ignored when they could at least have a voice over telling you that it was goaless rather than leaving you to assume it was nil nil by the fact that there is no mention of the game.

All the goals of World Cup 98. Well the title says it all. I knew what I was getting, and I was delighted, apart from the fact that the penalty shootouts were not included. If one didn't know what had happened, games like England vs Argentina would be very confusing, as they appear to end with the scores level, and we are never told who went through, but have to work it out for ourselves. But that's the only real complaint. The picture quality is very good, I was most impressed by this.
Its just a pity that games like the world cup final were given no more special treatment than any other group stage game. There isn't even any footage of France lifting the trophy.
Oh well, the goals is what I wanted, and I got them so I can't complain. Just would've been nice to see the shootouts. . .
