1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality, poor content, 9 Mar 2000
I returned my copy for the following reasons:

Picture quality - very poor, much worse than VHS or VCD, the picture often produces a pixelated image like an Internet video file.

Sound quality - very muted. I can record Match of the Day off the BBC in very good NICAM stereo. This sounded like a friend's pirate mono recording.

Content - the Title is "250 of the greatest Premiership Goals from 92 to 99". "Greatest" is an interesting word for a video full of hacked goalmouth scramble goals and penalties. I'm not a Manchester United fan but was surprised that not a single goal appeared from Old Trafford or from Anfield (I think). It was obvious that they had obtained the rights to all the cheapest goals and put them on this DVD.

Running time "120 minutes approx": Unless my counter is wrong it was well under 110 minutes. A small point but indicative of the effort and intentions of the people producing this DVD. They are trying to make a profit with as little effort as possible.

On the whole this is a great shame. The lack of effort is really shown up by the Cricket World Cup release with all its features. Hopefully the BBC will produce a football DVD the format deserves.

DVD is marketed as the highest quality home entertainment format. This is one of the worst quality if not the worst football video/DVD I have ever seen.

1.0 out of 5 stars The Poorest Quality DVD Ever!, 9 Mar 2000
By A Customer
The best DVD's bring you high quality picture, superb sound and if you're lucky, a few tasty extras. This DVD gives you none of the above and is an absolute travesty. The picture is a blury, shoddy disgrace and the sound(such as it is) is in mono! There's precious little commentary, several goals are repeated and of the 250 listed goals, 50 of them seem to have been scored by Tony Cottee! I would have been able to live with the lack of a decent sound track or comentary if the picture quality was sharp, but i can't stress enough that this is without doubt the worst quality picture i've seen on ANY format! The only reason that this review has even 1 star is because you can't select no stars. Whoever released this ought to be ashamed. Don't waste your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good, 18 May 2000

I think it was good, because there were lots of good goals in it, but some were rubbish.
