The New York Times said: 'This series is the best thing to happen to film history in years' and they were right. As an introduction to global cinema, it is unmatched. Sadly, the series is only available on video but you should not let that put you off. It is an invaluable tool for any student of film and utterly fascinating in its own right. This particular volume also offers great insights into Russian and Polish culture, both past and contemporary.
