5.0 out of 5 stars Dreyer is our god!, 13 Mar 2000
By A Customer
This movie is perfect. Nothing more, nothing less. Pure Cinema. This is something that puts Bagh's ego to turn a whole lot smaller.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only Dryer's Mother could love this film., 3 Aug 2000
By davedan@compuserve.com (London, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This is the slowest, most stilted, wooden, and implausible film that I have ever seen. It was such a surprise to me that I watched it twice just to confirm my initial boredom. It is a stylized Scandinavian attempt to imitate the worst excesses of the French pseudo-films of the 50's and 60's. Films are not literature; they are images with sound and movement. This film sets new standards for walking across the set and sitting in a different chair. How did it ever make it onto this prestigious list? It castes a shadow of great doubt on all the other titles.
